Christmas Minis Are Back For The 2022 Holiday Season!

Whats Changed for this years sessions?

• No morning/ Mid day sessions. I've found that the direct sunlight of early morning to mid day doesn't produce the best final images. Harsh shadows and eye squints do not make for the most appealing photo. And thats what i'm here to do. To give you the BEST photo that I can in our time together. I take pride in my shoots and you as a paying client deserve to have a final product that you can be proud of and feel like you have gotten the best value for your money. You will notice our sessions start in mid afternoon and run until golden hour. Golden hour is the best time of day for photos when the sun is just about to set, the sky is vibrant, and the lighting is even. Pro tip, the later the session, the better the lighting ;-)

If a morning session is needed to fit with your schedule, please contact me before booking to discuss booking a portrait session instead. Portrait sessions are a bit more of an investment than the mini sessions, but come with more time and will include all usuable images from the session, edited and ready for High Resolution printing.

• No more staged photos with props. While I do love the final images of most of the staged photos with the Christmas props (gift boxes/ Bags, teddy bear, etc...) The setup and posing around these shots take up too much of your valuable session time when needing to arrange for different sized families, ages,and looks... and to still get the natural shots with the trees. The session ends up feeling rushed, and I would rather spend our time perfecting natural shots than to fix a teddy bear that wont cooperate and keeps falling over.
• Letters for Santa! Last season we started collecting letters for Santa. We have a red mailbox for your child to drop off their letter. After all of the sessions have concluded, we will send them to the north pole, and Santa will send them back a personalized wax sealed letter. Dropping the letter(s) in the mailbox will be photographed as part of your session, so please hold onto them until we are ready. This is just an extra little fun piece of holiday magic I like to include with my sessions. Parents, please make sure the return address is printed clearly so Santa will know where to send his response.
• Winterized/ Snow Effect. Editing an image to appear as if it were snowing during our session is a great way to add that holiday feeling to your photo without actually having to dodge the flurries. When picking the 8 images included in your session, you can request to have one (or more) of those photos winterized for an additional fee. As much as I would like to just include this with the session, the editing process of this effect takes time and is done manually to give the most genuine look possible. So this will now be done as an add-on service. See the Past Seasons Photo section below for examples of this winterized effect.

Letters for Santa!

Be sure to have your little ones write a letter for Santa to drop in his mailbox during your session, They will receive a personalized response letter in the mail from the North Pole!!
